It is hereby declared that nothing contained in section 3 of this Act shall affect— (a) any judgment, decree or order of any court, tribunal or authority; (b) any rule, regulation, order or notification; (c) any custom or usage; (d) any agreement, settlement or other instrument; (e) any direction given by the Central Government or the Reserve Bank of India to any banking company; or (f) any other transaction or thing; which, immediately before the appointed day, was in force or effect, or which would have come into force or effect thereafter as if this Act had not been passed; and any such judgment, decree, order, rule, regulation, order, notification, custom, usage, agreement, settlement, instrument, direction, transaction or thing shall continue to have full force and effect until altered, amended or repealed by a competent legislature or other competent authority.
